KINETIC OSCILLATION THERAPY – THE NEW NON-INVASIVE TREATMENT FOR NON-ALLERGIC RHINITIS
Kinetic Oscillation Stimulation – the KOS method – developed by Chordate Medical and now available in the UK from GDS Medtech.
KOS is a new patient-friendly approach to treat NAR. KOS is a non-invasive neuro-modulation treatment procedure that has shown promising results from our clinical studies. Performed in an outpatient clinic, responding patients have reported almost instant relief or within a few days.
We are delighted to be able to bring the Chordate KOS system to the UK and would be delighted to bring the system to your department or clinic for a full demonstration.
THE TREATMENT – HOW THE KOS SYSTEM WORKS…
The Chordate KOS system works by stimulating the mucosa in the nasal cavity, which is believed to also have a positive effect on the autonomic nervous system.
The treatment is based on the creation of air-mediated kinetic oscillations (vibrations). A disposable catheter is inserted into one nasal cavity at time for 10 minutes to stimulate the nasal mucous membrane and the nervous system. Clinical experience and a not yet published clinical study suggest two treatments one month apart for non-allergic rhinitis.
For patients who respond to the treatment, relief is normally felt within a short time or up to a few days after treatment – a second treatment after four weeks is recommended for further improvement.
The long lasting effect has been seen six months after the initial treatment for responding patients.
If you require further information on the technical aspects of the new KOS system or you would like to discuss your interest in evaluating the system in your clinic, we would be delighted to assist you.
